Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses Tracecanon and is incorporated into the Terms of Service. It exists to keep the Service lawful, secure, and reliable for all organizations. Breaching it may lead to suspension or termination under the Terms.

1. Lawful authority to upload and process

You may upload and process a recording or document only if you have the lawful authority and basis to do so. In particular, you must comply with:

  • recording-consent, wiretap, and eavesdropping laws that apply to how the recording was made and how you process it;
  • privacy and data-protection law, confidentiality duties, and legal professional privilege;
  • any protective order, court order, sealing order, or contractual restriction covering the material;
  • intellectual-property rights and your lawful possession of the material.

You are responsible for obtaining any consents and for the lawful basis of your processing. Tracecanon does not verify your authority to upload.

2. Prohibited content

Do not upload or process content that:

  • you have no lawful right or authority to process;
  • is child sexual abuse material, or unlawfully depicts or exploits a minor;
  • you know to be unlawful to possess, or was obtained through unlawful interception;
  • contains malware, or is designed to disrupt or compromise systems.

3. Prohibited uses

Do not:

  • attempt to access another organization’s data or defeat tenant isolation, authentication, or authorization;
  • probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, or conduct penetration testing, without our prior written permission;
  • circumvent or abuse quotas, rate limits, usage metering, or paid-tier gating, or use automated means to place undue load on the Service;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or models, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • use the Service to build or train a competing product or model, or resell it without authorization;
  • misrepresent the Service’s outputs — for example, presenting a machine transcript as a certified transcript, or claiming Tracecanon authenticated a recording or determined its truthfulness;
  • use the Service to harass, surveil unlawfully, or otherwise violate the rights of others.

4. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including removing or disabling access to offending content, throttling, suspending, or terminating accounts, and cooperating with law enforcement where legally required. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give notice and an opportunity to remediate. Privileged actions are recorded in the audit trail.

5. Reporting abuse or vulnerabilities

Report abuse to support@tracecanon.com and suspected security vulnerabilities to security@tracecanon.com. Please do not access or modify data that is not yours when reporting a vulnerability.
